Hey guys, sorry for the delayed entry. Had been pretty busy lately, grin. Here's an entry to update all of u about my life for the past few weeks.*wink*
Wednesday ( 16th of March)
The long awaited day has finally arrived. Its the day of the AGM ( Annual General Meeting) of MSSA ( Malaysian and Singaporean Students Association) which consists about 250 members. Including students from china, ang mo's ( erm....mat sallehs') and other international students.
It was the day where elections was held. Why was it daunting yet exciting at the same time? Lol..coz I was running for the post of Vice-president. Competing with 4 other M'sian and Singaporean students. Scary u know!!!!!i t was pretty competitive and a close call between this girl and I as I know that she is quite capable and a tough competitor too.
The speeches went well......and then come the hustings..its like a Questions and Answers session from the floor, where seniors and every member of the society get to ask the candidates questions. The other girl was so full of confident and so persistent, I was a little bit intimidated I guess, but it all went well...grin although i was a tad bit nervous...my friend told me i answered the questions sincerely, so thats all that matters. I tried my best...oh well...
The result finally came out before dinenr. Oh!!! the agony of waiting for it !!!!!!Most of the votes are popularity votes as there were so many students in the society, how can u possibly know each and every of them? and there were online e-voting too! and guess what, Jeng jeng jeng........I GOT THE POST!!! grin....thanks to the moral support and encouragements from my friends!!!!!!!....
The president is a guy from Singapore, Daniel , and Secretary, Nazleen and treasurer, Minn both girls from M'sia who are doing medicine.
Mmhmm...yeap, its undeniable that its a tough job. What have I gotten myself into???? Sponsorships to look for...events to organised and formals for freshers.......time time time....

Thursday ( 3rd of March)
Went for Hunt Cup finals ( sort of like a Parliamentary Debate) by students of University of Bristol.
The senior lawyers from Beachcroft Wansbroughs ( one of the largest national commercial firm in UK) were the panel of judges. It was held in the Old council Chamber
Motion : The house propose that royals should be allowed to remarry.
Hmm...interesting topic.
At the end of his argument, one of the finalist came up with : according to the Chinese, the Rooster year is not suitable for marriage ( he was referring to Prince Charles and Camilla's wedding) because marriages during the Rooster year might just cock up.
Amusing.

A bouquet of flowers in memory of her
It was a bright and cheerful morning, well at least for me..until my friend from back home messaged me through msn. She started with : Not good, she passed away, committed suicide. Well... got stunned for a moment. Who in the world is she talking about? Who is SHE????
Well....it was my primary schoolmate whom I sat next to in class. She was my good friend then but we lost contact right after we went to high school. It was said that quite often, laughter and giggles could be heard from a group of us who were sitting together. chiding and kidding around. Fun, cheerful, willing to lend a hand, sociable and friendly was how i remembered her. She loves things with Hello Kitty on it. she had cute features. Loves wearing hairbands. She likes cute things too!!! We shared similar interests...'sad grin'....
She is gone now though. Disappeared from this world which is full of suffering. She ended her life due to hardships in relationships. My heart sank and I was shocked the instant I heard this news. i find this decision to end her problems by ending her life very very unwise and irrational. Sigh...she could have seek solace from friends and families. Well..its easy for me to say I guess, but anything goes in a spur of a moment. Her parents and family must be devastated. After spending 20 years of bringing her up, the love and energy......I dun think anyone deserves this.
I hear cases like this happen quite often, but i didnt know that it will happen to a friend of mine. Well....anything goes i guess, life's like that.
People....if u are reading this...listen up....whenever u have problems, do not hesitate to seek help from friends and family, consult them or there are help lines from ppl who will keep ur details confidential before u do anything stupid. Nothing in this world which could not be solved....there is solution to everything...even if u cant find one.....be sensible coz everything happens for a reason. Treat it as challenge.
wELL...I shall end here for the day. May she rest in peace. (F)

Is the clink of glasses to celebrate Chinese New Year!!!!! Yayyyy I hereby welcome the Rooster year happily!!!
Well.....went to my friend's place on New Year's eve and we cooked cooked and cooked. Grin. and after that we had a feast! It was fun coz we had seniors who had experience in cooking to help us out. haha the whole dinner turned out really great! it was really scrumptious and my tong yuen soup( little balls of flour in ginger soup) which i contributed was quite nice!!! haha We played cards and talked and had fun till quite late...grin....
Then on nian chu yi ( the first day of Chinese New Year itself) I went out with my coursemates to a chinese restaurant. There were like 11 of us and as u can see....there were 3 guys who were REALLY REALLY big eaters, added with the fact that the small portion in the chinese restaurant which didnt help....we ordered 11 dishes!!!! grin...its like 1 dish per person!!! lol.....
Hmm....well...this entry is a bit subdued due to the dreary weather today and the lack of sleep for the past few days. Was busy with classes...yeah i know!!!! CNY and there is still classes!!! and apart from that, performances, went out with friends and reading for tutorials!!!!!! . Wet and windy today!!!!! urghhh...bleah....=P had class at 9 am and it was raining really heavily and the strong wind almost blew my umbrella away!!!! nvm...made me almost felt like Mary Poppins for awhile...ALMOST...
I will have summore dinners during the weekend. Hopefully I can post up some pictured then. For the time being, gotta run now, there's a perfomance at some architecture firm in Bath in a jiffy. Gotta get ready!!!!! grin
Well.....Until then!!!!!

a.k.a Malaysian Singaporean Night !!!!
Needless to say, it was a good job well done. It went smoothly and the performances were great!! T'was an understatement coz my acapella performance Kiss The Girl from the soundtrack of Little Mermaid !!!! (hahaha yesssssss....My fave Disney movie!!!!!!! ) and my Christina Aguilera - Come on over dance was a hit...grin.......talk about humble hahaha
Really....coz we had a friendly competition amongst the performers, and after each performance we sold raffle tickets, the performance which sold the most raffle tickets win!!!!!! hehe and that will be '' drum roll please'' my dance!!!! grin...wheeee......all our hard work paid off!!!!
It was so nerve-racking I tell you, before the acapella performance. There were 5 of us in a group and each of us had our own mike!!!!!! Imagine....ME!!!! having a mike all by myself and singing in front of 200 audiences whom I only know 10 percent ( the rest are seniors and mat sallehs) And all of us have different parts!!!!! Horror of horror.... what if I forgot my own part and follow someone else's part ( tsk tsk which I always tend to do duting practises..grin) and most important of all, I was an alto......i.e. the melody or lead singer for the group. Oh dear, had butterflies in my stomach all night, the cold weather and the thin fabric I was wearing certainly didnt help much. My teeth was chattering when I went on stage.
Daniel, a singaporean ( very talented) whom was singing tenor part in the acapealla group was like, '' dun worry, just enjoy the song'' grin. I barely eaten anything before the performance. I practically dragged the whole acapella group out 1 and the half performance before mine to practice and sing just to get into the mood. Lol. They were half way eating and gave me a funny look...hahaha cant help it!!!!!! But finally, everything paid off. The performance was good...thanks to everyone's hard work, and for tolerating me haha,...the hall was silent when we were singing......good sign I guess....''wink''
I was pretty much warmed up for my next performance- the dance ( which was the last event) after the singing. Hmm.......which was good.....had a little something to eat after that.
Well...I shall let the pictures do the ''talking'' then. What can I say, a picture says '' a million words'.
Here we go :
Above : (l-r) Li Koon( medic), me, Minn ( medic) and Mei Lyn....all from M'sia and not to mention dancers for the night grin

' grin' The title says it all!!! It snowed on Saturday night!!! so fun!!! We gonna have a white Chinese New Year!!!! Yayyyyy...'' rubbing hands with glee'' wink
It all begin with...haha...here comes my long grandmother story. ( crap, am suppose to be doing my coursework, due on Wednesday, but I could not resist creating an entry). hmmm,......
I digress.
Okay, was busy warming up for my dance.( in which a few friends and I will be performing for the MSN night this Saturday, so soon!!). We were having a full dress rehearsal in Manor Hall's dining room. It was so fun! I learnt so much.
We were doing stretches outside the hall, at the corridor and it started raining.....It was an icy rain at first and when I peeked out the window the second time, there was snow!!!!!! hehe being as 'jakun' as I am, not like I''ve never seen snow before, but never in Bristol !.....so my friend and I ran out of the hall and into the freezing grounds outside!! lol both of us just wearing out thin cotton jackets. We started throwing ice at each other 'grin' . There is ice on the car's windscreen.
After a moment of happiness =P hehe we went back upstairs again...reluctantly.... 'Kononnya' our dance will be the highlight of the night's formal, so we had to perfect our dance moves. Thankfully we had 2 wonderful seniors to give comments, ideas and point out our mistakes and many more others to give thier views and opinions. They were like ,'' no no no!!! you must bounce more!!! sway more, make ur movements bigger and larger so that audience sitting behind the dining hall can see what you are doing, shake more!! hahaha. There were giving all kinds of funny yet useful opinions and ideas. The guy, Stephen, a 3rd year from KTJ was like :, move ur hands like this, shake ur body like that, dance with style girls.!!! It really tickled me when he started showing us how cat walk is like and how we were suppose to dance. Chia, also a 3rd year was an expert at dancing. So her advise was really useful. Like I said, I learnt a lot about performing on stage.
For your info, we were dancing to Christina Aguilera's Come On Over. erm...yeah I know what you are thinking. tsk tsk...=P
We repeated the whole dance routine for more than 10 times that night! goodness ....and the very fun part was we applied our dance moves to different kinds of songs!!! haha Its amazing we can do that. We danced to this very slow mandarin song that the chinese guys were singing to and after that we danced to an Indian Song!! yeah, u read that correctly, it was so darn fast...we were like almost kelam- kabut already lol. The aim is that we get into rhythm of all the music, bounce more and enjoy the music while we dance. The Indian song was for a play, adapted from the University of Singapore. It was so hilarious, the people who was doing the play were dancing to it and we put our dance routine in. After the Indian song we went back to dancing Come on Over again. Everyone in the hall who were performing was trying to imitate our moves. Although it was a long and tiring night, ( our reheasal ended at 11 30 pm) we had great fun. Minn ( a medic friend of mine from M'sia) and I were up most of the nights thinking of the dance moves. She's good...'wink' and quite pretty too...=P
Sadly we didnt take much picture that day, hopefully i'll be able to take pics of my dance this Saturday. There will be ballet performance too. They're good. There's another last full dress rehearsal this Wednesday, the day which my coursework is due!!! haha So I gotta sign off for now, see u guys soon!!!!
Ta......Ending yet again with:

Happy New year!!!!!
Xin Nian Kuai Le !!!! grin...sounds like its chinese new year already. but heyyy......9th of feb is not too long away anyway isnt it?
Well....everyone has a long list of new year resolutions. Mine would be relatively simple.
New Year Resolutions for Wuan Zhu ( Wan Ru)
1. Appreciate everyone ( friends, family(s), acquaintances, enemies ( not that like I have 1, wink) and everybody around me when I still have the chance.
2. Do not take things for granted. Everything happens for a reason.
3. Will and determination overcomes everything
Last But Not Least.....
Live Life to The Fullest!!!!
Hmm.......sorryla......blog 'tergendala' for quite sometime again. Was enjoying time in M'sia. Spending time with friends and family. Enjoying M'sian food....spicy....and cheap haha....Mummy and aunt cooked laksa specially for me!!! hehe so sweet ...the food was good too!!! sighhh.......home is always the best....
However, life must go on. God...i sound so sad..... lol anyway,am back in Bristol already!!! My 2nd home!! hehe.....work work work....cold......chilly......windy....the wind is just so strong!!!!.......rainnnn......but thank god its sunny now...( not like its of any help to the cold weather....heard its gonna get colder towards the end of Jan and beginning of Feb). da di dum.....
Hmmm........nvm....im armed with my matching bright pink beanie and scarf !!! haha to brighten up the draggy, dull ,mundane, sad, depressing, cold and colourless weather.
Will be busy practicing and having full dress rehearsals for the next 3 weeks for MSN night. No...its not the internet msn thing la!!! okay okay..lame...but anyway.. its sort of a Malaysian and Singaporean Society Formal Night. They're gonna invite the Hi-Comms of both Singapore and Malaysia. Well...cant wait....if everything goes well....I'll be performing a piano duet with a friend and acapella. Hah.....not like I can sing well also.....but nvm...
Hm...am feeling a little hyper now, rambling a lot....probably coz NOT enough sleep and the sun is shinning so brightly!!! so deceiving, deceitful....whatever.....u see the sun shining so brightly...once u step out of the door, u freeze!!!! urgghhh.....
Shall sign off for now....too much crap.....oklar....end with something meaningful, a quote!!!! hehe....
Still Thoughts
Everyday is a new beginning in life.
Every moment is a time for self vigilance.

Unpredictability in Life..
Nothing is Permanent.....
sighh......Im sure everyone is saddened by the Tsunami disaster which hit Thailand, Indonesia, India, Sri lanka and Malaysia. It was really unpredictable.....they didnt know what hit them. Nobody knew this was coming. Death toll was close to 80,000 and still rising. This is bad and very depressing..........
I didnt really wanna watch the footage showed in CNN and BBC news. Didint dare....if I could say so. It was really really morbid. Bodies strewn all over the place. Mass burying. Epidemic illness. One thing leads to another. Let us lower our heads in a moment of silence and pay tribute to the victims.
In Memory Of Those Who Died
In memory of those who died
We weep and walk away.
Tears run into swollen streams.
No trace of us remains.
Even those who grieve are gone,
And those that grieve who grieve,
And those whose lives are ravaged by
A frantic urge to be,
And those who wander silently
Among the empty rooms:
Immortality is theirs,
Though they must vanish, too.
We bear astonished witness to
The passage of the soul.
No bridge exists that can connect
Our passion to the whole.

So Much to Do But So Little time
Sighh.......Im back Home!!!!!!!!!! to the comfort of my cozy house and room, to the warmth of my family and friends. think comfort zone ...'grin' Ahhhh.... the damp air and humid + unpredictable weather. Arrived Malaysia bout a week ago, spent 2 days at home then went for camp for 5 days hehe. 2 more weeks left and I'm off again!!!! Time flies....so fast....so so so much things i want to do........and have to do....
Had an amazing time at the camp, the ppl there were so friendly and full of enthusiasm. Not to mention cheerful .....and the speakers........my favourite Uncle Vijaya and Bro. Huat Chye gave a very inspirational speech. Hymn singing, dancing ( Lilo and Stitch ) and theme song!!!! To be or Not to be was the theme for this year's camp.
It got quite moving and emotional during the Night of Thousand Candles event during the last night of the camp --where everyone shared their feelings, what they have learnt and obtained in the duration of the camp, thanking the comittees for what they have done ( for which is a good job well done). Sobs could be heard in the dark Shrine Hall. Everyone had their chance to come out and talk and after that got their candles lit. The whole hall was full of litted candles at the end of the night which created a peaceful and serene atmosphere. It made the camp participants more close knitted.
The farewell at the end of the camp was more emotional. Not thanks to Pei Yun Dah ling who made me broke into tears at the very last minute, considering this will be my last camp. Oh well, it was really fun and enjoyable. All of us will be looking forward for the X'mas Party Countdown on Friday night. 'grin'
Its back to work for me.......urghh....courseworks........exams!!!!!!! Poor poor thing hehe........met up with friends who just came back from Aussie i.e down under. Hmm.......spend time with family!!! and enjoy M'sian food!!!! think char kuey teow and and home made food.
Well...am signing off for now.....gotta get back to work.......
P.s. Shall post some camp pictures soon...once I get the CD.....( for the benefit of FM) =P hehe
